About
About Yachts Africa and How We Work
Yachts Africa is a brokerage and sourcing desk covering South Africa, Egypt, Morocco, Nigeria, Kenya and Mauritius. We put buyers in touch with sellers whose boats we have checked, and with the yards, marinas, skippers and crew a boat needs after the sale. We stay involved from the first WhatsApp message until the delivery log is signed.
Where the boats on this coast really trade
Many African boats change hands through yacht clubs, charter companies and personal contacts before they ever reach a website. That is the market we work:
- Finding boats: charter fleet releases, private owners, estates and bank sales, matched to your brief
- Checking them: ownership, liens, import status, engine hours from the meters and the honest charter record
- Survey and closing: an independent surveyor, escrow, flag and registration
- Afterwards: haul-outs, refits sent to Cape Town when the job needs it, deliveries on both oceans, crew
What we will not do
We keep no stock of our own, favour no shipyard and never push a bigger boat than the brief needs. If a Cap Camarat does the job better than a flybridge at three times the price, we put that in writing. If the survey says walk away, we help you walk.
A short WhatsApp message is the fastest way to reach us.
Message the deskOur fee
A purchase runs on a success fee that we agree in writing before the search starts. Service, surveys and deliveries are quoted separately. The first conversation is free: browse yachts for sale, or describe the boat you already own.
Your questions, answered
Do the boats belong to you?
No. Every boat belongs to its seller. We confirm who owns it, whether anything is owed on it and how it was used before we introduce it to you.
Which countries do you work in?
South Africa, Egypt, Morocco, Nigeria, Kenya and Mauritius, and our contacts reach the neighbouring coasts. If your country is not on the list, ask anyway.
Can you handle everything from purchase to delivery?
Yes, that is the normal job: survey, escrow and registration, then a professional delivery under the boat's own power or by ship, with insurance and paperwork in place on arrival.
