Yacht for Sale in Morocco

Morocco sits at the hinge between the Mediterranean and the Atlantic, and that geography, not a large local ownership market, drives its yachting scene. A YachtWorld snapshot found just one used boat listed for the whole country, which tells you plainly that most Morocco linked sales run through France or Spain based brokers rather than local ones.
We work with buyers moving boats between Gibraltar, the Spanish coast and Morocco's own marinas at Tangier, Rabat-Salé and Agadir. Below: the marinas that matter, realistic 2026 price bands, and what Temporary Admission and import rules mean if you want to base a boat here permanently.
Morocco's Marinas: A Gateway, Not a Destination Fleet
Tanja Marina Bay in Tangier is Morocco's first true urban marina: more than 1,400 berths across two basins, a full service shipyard, Blue Flag certification, and capacity for vessels up to 40 metres. It is the closest thing Morocco has to a refit facility in this dataset.
Marina Smir near Tetouan and M'diq is the liveliest of three marinas in that area, with the widest choice of restaurants and cafes on site. Marina Bouregreg, at the mouth of the Bouregreg River serving Rabat and Sale, holds 250 moorings for vessels up to 100 metres and a 4 metre draught. On the Atlantic coast, Marina Agadir offers 300 moorings for boats up to 30 metres and is regularly described as clean, modern and well maintained. Our best marinas in Africa guide sets all four against Egypt's Red Sea marinas and Cape Town's Waterfront.
A Small Local Market Built on Transit Traffic
Scattered listings on boats.com and iNautia show the scale here: a Mohammedia boat at $343,939, a Tangier listing at $53,884, and Agadir asking from 45,000 euros. This is a market defined by boats passing through the Strait of Gibraltar more than boats built for or sold to Moroccan owners, and any inventory assumption for this country deserves direct confirmation with local marinas before you commit to it.
Crew for Morocco based boats is often sourced from the Spain or Gibraltar side, a natural consequence of how short the Strait crossing actually is. Buyers weighing a Red Sea base instead should see our yacht for sale in Egypt page.
What Your Budget Buys in Morocco
Given how thin confirmed local listings are, the ranges below lean on the broader European brokerage figures that actually supply this market: treat every number here as a starting point to verify, not a quote.
A Fountaine Pajot Lucia 40 or Lagoon 42 suits the day sailing and short hop cruising that Morocco's marinas are built for. The Beneteau Oceanis 46.1 is a natural fit for Morocco's Mediterranean facing marinas specifically, thanks to its European charter fleet presence and aft cockpit cruising layout. Larger flybridge motor yachts such as the Azimut 55 do appear through the Spain and Gibraltar brokerage network for buyers who want a Tangier or Agadir base.
| Budget (USD) | Boats in this band | Why buyers pick them |
|---|---|---|
| Under $250,000 | Fountaine Pajot Lucia 40 (indicative, verify) | 40ft cruising catamaran for coastal hopping between Tangier, Smir and Agadir |
| $415,000 - $695,000 | Lagoon 42 | 3 to 4 cabin cruising catamaran, widely available through the French and Spanish brokerage network |
| $250,000 - $659,000 | Beneteau Oceanis 46.1 | monohull cruiser suited to Morocco's Mediterranean facing marinas |
| $200,000 and up | Azimut 55 (sourced via Spain/Gibraltar network) | flybridge motor yacht for a Tangier or Agadir base |

If you are a non resident bringing a boat in temporarily, Morocco's Temporary Admission, TA, regime is what applies: report to customs within 24 hours of arrival at the first port of entry, and a marina can typically arrange the TA paperwork on your behalf. Permanent import is a different matter and is dutiable on the declared value plus shipping cost, but we found no specific ad valorem percentage confirmed for pleasure yachts, so verify the actual rate with Moroccan customs or a broker before you budget one. Morocco's TVA, its VAT, was likewise not independently confirmed for a permanently imported yacht in our research: confirm the current rate and its application with a customs broker.
One genuine trap: Morocco does not allow duty free import of spare parts under yacht in transit status unless the part is an insurance claim replacement placed through one of Morocco's pre approved insurance partners. That catches owners doing routine refit work while cruising more often than you would expect.
Registration runs through the Direction de la Marine Marchande, DMM, part of the Ministry of Equipment, Transport and Logistics in Casablanca, which launched an online registration application service in 2020. Most cruising foreign yachts stay on their home flag under TA rather than re-flagging: re-flagging with DMM only really matters if you intend to base the boat permanently in Morocco.
How Buying Through Us Works in Morocco
Because so little confirmed inventory sits locally, we search the France and Spain brokerage networks that actually supply this market first, then match against your preferred Moroccan base, Tangier for the full service shipyard, Agadir for the Atlantic coast, or Rabat-Salé for the river mouth mooring.
Once we have a shortlist we arrange a proper survey, keel bolts and keel to hull joint on any monohull, hull moisture testing on any catamaran, before you commit. We then help you weigh Temporary Admission against DMM registration based on how long you actually plan to keep the boat in Moroccan waters.

Your questions, answered
Is there much local yacht inventory for sale in Morocco?
Very little confirmed local inventory exists. A YachtWorld snapshot found just one used boat listed for the whole country, with scattered listings on boats.com and iNautia, a Tangier boat at $53,884 and a Mohammedia boat at $343,939 among them. Most Morocco linked sales actually run through France or Spain based brokers rather than local ones.
What is Temporary Admission and do I need it?
Temporary Admission, TA, is the customs status for a non resident bringing a foreign flagged boat into Morocco temporarily. You report to customs within 24 hours of arrival at the first port of entry, and a marina can typically arrange the paperwork on your behalf. It is not a path to Moroccan flagging, that only matters if you plan to base the boat permanently.
Which Moroccan marina has refit or shipyard facilities?
Tanja Marina Bay in Tangier is the closest to a full service facility in this market, with more than 1,400 berths, Blue Flag certification and a complete shipyard for vessels up to 40 metres. Agadir and Marina Smir are geared more to servicing and seasonal berthing than deep refit work.
What duty or VAT applies if I import a yacht permanently into Morocco?
Permanent import is dutiable on the declared value plus shipping cost, but no specific ad valorem percentage for pleasure yachts was confirmed in our research, and Morocco's TVA rate for a permanently imported yacht was not independently verified either. Confirm both figures with Moroccan customs or a licensed broker before you budget a landed cost.
