Yachts for Sale in Africa and South Africa
We find yachts for sale in South Africa, Egypt, Morocco, Nigeria, Kenya and Mauritius, arrange an independent survey and see the deal through escrow and delivery. Cape Town builds some of the best-known cruising catamarans afloat, and we help you buy one near the factory or on the resale market.

Yachts for sale in Africa, starting with South Africa
South Africa is where most of our searches start, because the country both builds cruising catamarans and resells them. Around that core sits a varied coast: charter catamarans finishing contracts in the Indian Ocean, world cruisers ending a circumnavigation at the Cape, Red Sea motor yachts in El Gouna such as the Sunseeker Portofino 53, the occasional Gulf-built Majesty 48, lagoon boats in Lagos, creek boats in Kilifi and passage-makers on Mauritian moorings.
We cover South Africa, Egypt, Morocco, Nigeria, Kenya and Mauritius for buyers and for owners who need work done, with Cape Town's yards as the refit base for the whole continent.
Built in Cape Town and along the South African coast
Few regions build as many cruising catamarans as the Western Cape and the Garden Route, and buying close to the builder changes the maths: no import duty for a South African owner, factory support nearby, and a delivery passage that starts at the yard.
- Robertson and Caine, Cape Town: the builder of the Leopard 45 and Leopard 50, and the Southern Hemisphere's largest catamaran yard.
- Balance Catamarans: performance cruising cats such as the Balance 526, built at St Francis Bay for owners who sail far.
- Knysna Yacht Company, Knysna: semi-custom cats like the Knysna 500 SE, built on the Garden Route.
- St Francis Marine, St Francis Bay: smaller-volume cruising catamarans with a loyal owner following.
- Southern Wind, Cape Town: large sailing yachts built for owners who want a superyacht under sail.
Our catamarans for sale in South Africa page compares these builders side by side, including when factory-direct beats the resale market.

Owner's reading
Your questions, answered
Is Yachts Africa a dealer?
No. We work as brokers: every boat is the seller's, and we check who owns it and how it was used before you spend money on a survey.
Should I buy an ex-charter catamaran?
It can be the best value on the coast if the price reflects the wear. Fleet boats are serviced on a schedule but used hard, and the survey we arrange looks at the places charter work shows first.
Can you move a boat from one African coast to another?
Yes. We book delivery skippers for passages under sail or power, or ship transport when the route or season makes sailing a poor choice. Cape Town to the Mediterranean and crossings to Mauritius are regular routes.
What do you charge?
Purchases run on a written success fee. Surveys, deliveries and yard work are quoted separately; a first conversation costs nothing.
Tell us your coast and what the boat is for
Day boat, catamaran or passage-maker, plus a budget and a home port. That is enough for us to start looking.
